Thank you for this very interesting and informative post! Back at school, my history teachers used to tell us a lot about Onfim and his drawings, and I became so fascinated by him I later travelled to Novgorod (it’s not far from where I live — St Petersburg) just to see the place and try to imagine his life. Still have very fond memories of that first trip.
